About
Lisa Knight
Lisa Knight of Abbot, Maine has recently embarked on a new career as a
massage therapist and has no doubt that she has made the right choice.
After years of working in a factory, Knight found she was plagued by
back and neck problems that left her discouraged and pretty much
constantly in pain. She did not want to take the "pain pill" route
because those pills left her feeling sleepy and lethargic. She happened
upon massage therapy at that low point in her life and in a very short
time found herself to be energized and not crippled by pain. Knight
decided to go back to school to learn this new skill and was fortunate
to be chosen as one of ten students of Donna Kraft-Smith. "I learned so
much," Knight said. "Donna has been a massage therapist for at least 18
years and has been so generous in sharing her knowledge of the art."
Knight also completed a course of study from the prestigious Myotherapy
Institute of Massage at Salt Lake City, Utah.
Knight
is on a mission to help her clients, much as she has been helped by
massage therapy. "I chose this field as a result of my personal search
for stress relief," Knight said. "I now find I have more awareness and
control of my mind and body, and am more relaxed and calm, with a
renewed sense of confidence. I know massage therapy has changed my
life, and I want to offer this benefit to others," she added. Knight
said that besides being good for the soul in general, massage therapy
can help with headache and eye strain, poor circulation, high blood
pressure, neck and shoulder pain, insomnia and stress and tension. She
uses wonderful aromatic oils created by Will o' the Wisp of Guilford to
enhance the massage experience.
